Step 03 · Quantity survey

From drawing to defensible number.

Every assembly is marked in Planswift, measured, and aggregated by category. The same quantities feed the budget and the request-for-quote packages we send to trades. Below is an illustrative sample — toggle between categories to see how a takeoff comes together on one floor plan.

Property line

Illustrative example based on a 9,250 sqft Pacific Northwest custom home. Project identifiers have been removed.

Why this matters

Same quantities. Three downstream uses.

01 · BUDGET

Direct feed into the line-item budget.

Every quantity in the legend lands in a corresponding budget line. Nothing enters the budget that wasn't first measured on the drawing.

02 · TRADES

Ready for the RFQ package.

Quantities export from Planswift in a digital format suitable for direct inclusion in a request-for-quote package to trades — so every bid is priced against the same scope.

03 · CHANGE

A baseline against which change is measured.

When the design changes, the difference in quantities is visible. The cost impact of every revision is traceable back to the drawing.
